Valentiine – FREE download single

Melbourne’s all-girl scrunge-rock trio Valentiine released ‘Beauty Lies’ as a free download single via Integrity Records on 15th December 2014.

Recorded during the sessions which spawned their eponymous debut album (“One of the best grunge records since the death of Kurt Cobain … 4*” TIME OUT LONDON), ‘Beauty Lies’ has hitherto only been available in the band’s native Australia.

“We were totally gutted at having to cancel this year’s UK tour after Shelly’s accident and wanted to say a little thank you to all our European fans for their continued support and patience.”  (Vanessa – guitar and vocals)

Drummer Shelly sustained a triple leg fracture in a motorcycle accident just a couple of months before Valentiine were due to return to the UK for more live dates.  The recording of their second album has also been postponed as Shelly recovers from surgery.

Previous UK singles ‘Love Like’ and ‘Chucky’ enjoyed plays on BBC Radio 1, Q Radio, Total Rock & Team Rock Radio and hit the number 1 and 2 spots in the Amazing Radio Singles Chart.

With a new European live agent now in place, the band once hailed by The Guardian as “the best Australian band you’ve never heard of” look forward to their UK return in 2015.

Love Music Magazine Awards

Some of you will be familiar with the great work done by Emma and the team behind Love Music Magazine and others not so.

Covering artists and bands across all musical genres, the only proviso is that the music must be new and exciting.  The mag is brilliantly put together, monthly and FREE (though donations are welcome via their website), so what’s not to like?

Having launched in July 2013, Love Music celebrated its first anniversary with its own Love Music Awards shortlist, covering loads of bases from Best Pop Artist through Best Management Company to Best Recording Studio.

Surprisingly tucked away in the Best Independent Record Label 2014 category was our own little Integrity Records and, as was announced by the mag last night, we’re proud to say we won the top gong!

So, a massive thank you to over 4,000 of you who voted, and another to Emma and Love Music Magazine for their tireless work promoting new artists.

Finally a word for a fellow winner and great friend of the label, Gavin Monaghan.  Not only did Gav win Best Producer but his studio, Magic Garden, was awarded a gong too.  Gav and Magic Garden will always have a special place in our hearts for producing early Integrity albums by Plutonik and Miss Black America and, more recently, for his brilliant work with theLights.

Now head off to Love Music Issue 15 to read about all the other winners – some big names like Gary Numan and Scuzz TV are in there, and some great new artists to discover too.
