Warwickshire's Pet Dog Storm release their gorgeous debut album "Beautiful is Down" on the 7th of December. read more

Warwickshire’s Pet Dog Storm release their gorgeous debut album “Beautiful is Down” on 7th December 2011. The 10 track long player is available from all major download stores including iTunes, Amazon and Play and as a limited edition digi-pack CD by mailorder from Integrity Records.

The debut album from Pet Dog Storm is a cosmic, desert-fried dispatch from a psychedelic world so different from our own. Vaulting, symphonic synths compete with beguiling splashes of gospel and blue-eyed soul to lead you on a journey through the modern-day concept album that is Beautiful is Down.

With a nod to the likes of Arcade Fire, Mercury Rev and The Polyphonic Spree, lead single Time to Fly (supported by John Kennedy on XFM and Tom Robinson on BBC 6Music) and the title track provide the album’s happier, hippier moments, with a hint of the acid swagger of Primal Scream. Elsewhere, Pet Dog Storm reveal a more ambient, experimental indie-prog side, though melody remains key.

Buy “Beautiful is Down” here:

There was a time when many country singers strived to break into the mainstream pop charts and succeeded. Faith Hill and Leanne Rimes made names for themselves scoring huge number one hits and more recently Miley Cyrus (having followed in the footsteps of her father, Billy Ray Cyrus) has made great strides in the country/pop crossover area.

Within this context we now have Travis and Julie of Nashville, Tennessee, who are set to release their debut single from their new album Moon Girl in the UK on 13th June 2011. Osmosis is an upbeat, easy going song that could easily suit any perky rom-com, and is sung predominantly by Travis, whose voice floats through the steady verses to the chorus.
