Coming on like Fleetwood Mac covering dEUS via Fugazi and early Verve, Horse Party got together in September 2012 after a night spent drinking in a church. Bonding over a shared love of Bjork, Savages, Daughter and terrible movies, the threesome hatched a simple plan: Firstly, in blanded-out times, to release records that sound like no-one else. Secondly, to either make or lose a million pounds.
A free download in January 2013 quickly led to support offers with alt-stars Tunng, Pinkunoizu, Heartless Bastards, London Grammar, Dingus Khan, Vuvuvultures, Tied To The Mast and Ghost Poet, and a live broadcast via BBC Introducing from the new John Peel Centre for Creative Arts. April 2013 saw the release of critically-lauded debut single, ‘Back To Mono’, swiftly followed by live EP ‘Scarlet & Blue’.
Their first single for Integrity, ‘What Do You Need’, came out on 11th November 2013. Watch the video here What Do You Need – Youtube
Horse Party’s debut album ‘Cover Your Eyes’ (INT 048) was released digitally on 7th April 2014 and on digipak CD with 16-page colour booklet on 12th May 2014, as the Bury St Edmunds 3-piece were confirmed as playing the Lake Stage for BBC Introducing at Latitude Festival.
