‘We Come From The Stars’ is the new single from Danish 5-piece MALMØ.
Hailing from Aarhus on Denmark’s east coast, 5-piece band MALMØ features the unique voice and song-writing of Maria Malmoe. EP & single releases and immersive live performances across the Nordics have seen Maria likened to Agnes Obel, Eivør and Oh Land.
‘We Come From The Stars’, the title track from the band’s debut album due out on May 4th, was inspired by a scientific publication claiming that the human body consists partially of stardust. As Maria says:
“We’re nature all the way through – although we often forget it because of all the layers and things we surround ourselves with. It gives me great peace and a sense of purpose to think that we actually consist of stardust: Nitrogen in our brains, chalk in our bones, iron in our veins, and carbon in our souls.”
Described by Get In Her Ears as “an exquisite, twinkling slice of alt-pop, showcasing everything there is to love about MALMØ”, watch the video here …
Debut UK single ‘You’ was released in October 2017 to wide critical acclaim, with spot plays on BBC Radio Ulster, Amazing Radio, Shoreditch Radio and numerous regional stations, with Spotify playlisting from the likes of Crack In The Road, Alex Rainbird and Big Tune IMR.
